The following site holds the Top World of Warcraft private servers;

How to Play a Private Server;

-1. Go to a Private Servers Site and register to the site and (If possible) to a server

-2. After you register, look for the realmlist that it gives

-3. Right click on the Start button (PC) and click explore

-4. On the right side find "Program Files" and open it.

-5. Scroll down through the list it gives and find "World of Warcraft" and open it.

-6. Find the "realmlist.wtf" file, or one that says "realmlist" and under it says "WTF File"

-7. Right click it and select "Open With" and Select "Notepad" (If "Notepad is not there then click "Choose Program..." and find it)

-8. Next to the one that says "set realmlist" there should be "us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com" (Without "")

-9. Write down us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com

-10. Now remove ONLY "us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com" and replace it with the realmlist given at the site.

-11. Now save it and start up World of Warcraft

-12. Instead of your normal World of Warcaft Username and password, use the one that you registered with at the site, and log on.

-13. To play normal World of Warcraft, simply replace the realmlist back to "us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com" (without "") and save

-14. Enjoy!

Note - You do not need a World of Warcaft account to play forever on a private server, and you will not be paying per month, and there are Blizz like private servers so that if you don't want to pay for normal WoW, you can play those for free and its just like normal WoW (I would not recommend deleting your official WoW Account though)
